PropertyBoss Solutions has a long and interesting past. The founder and co-owner, James Clanton, worked for Fluor Daniel for 18 years as a software developer, writing logistics software for airports in Saudi Arabia before there was any real technology infrastructure. Also, while with Fluor, he wrote a Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) which was sold to oil refineries and other large process manufacturers.
In 1995, he started helping his wife who was consulting with some property management groups using Quick Books. To help her, he spent nearly two years writing a new PC-based property management software. Along the way he realized that nearly 80% of a marketable software product had been created.
James took what he calls “A Field of Dreams Leap of Faith – If I sell it, they will come” and decided to team up with several investors to introduce his property management software. He attended various trade shows and ended up selling several copies to companies that PropertyBoss Solutions counts as happy customers 14 years later.
Using these wins as leverage, Clanton received the investment capital he needed to start his property management software company.
PropertyBoss Solutions went through several iterations between 1999 and 2003 before James met Michael Mino, an already successful entrepreneur and adjunct professor at Clemson University. Together, James and Michael obtained all the intellectual rights to the PropertyBoss software and formed a partnership that continues to offer the best and highest value property management software in the industry.
Our headquarters are located in beautiful Greenville, South Carolina, voted one of the best cities to live in, as well as one of the top ten historic downtowns in the US. Home to some of the biggest corporations in North America including the BMW manufacturing plant, Michelin North America, and Hubbell Lighting. Greenville boasts a thriving economy, unparalleled entertainment and restaurants, while still retaining its southern charm.
